The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Watch in advance of a storm expected to arrive in Lincoln County late Sat. and continue with snowfall through Sun. afternoon. The possibility for 6 inches of accumulation is possible with this storm, according to the NWS, but other forecasts have been a bit more conservative at around 2-4 inches in total.
There is also an NWS advisory for “very minor” coastal flooding during the high tide on Sun. morning due to moon tides and the storm surge. The high tide in Wiscasset on Sun. is at 10:53 a.m. for 11.8 feet. The storm surge is forecast to add between 0.5 to 1.0 feet of additional height, according to the NWS.
