The Bristol Board of Selectmen unanimously voted to appropriate $3500 to repair a portion of Sodom Road, near Bristol Mills, at their Sept. 8 meeting.
The “first half of the first portion of the Sodom Road is washed out,” Chairman Robert Tibbetts said. The road sits on a ledge that makes it prone to erosion, Tibbetts said.
The $3500 appropriation is pending a review of available funds by Town Administrator Kristine Poland.
Poland also reported complaints about the Cozy Cottage Road and the shoulders along a portion of Benner Road.
Tibbetts promptly addressed the Cozy Cottage Road problem. “We fixed it yesterday,” he said.
The selectmen will address the Benner Road issues this year, Tibbetts said.
The town will “fill the shoulders in with gravel so there’s not such a drop-off,” Poland said. The repairs will help maintain the condition of the roadway, too, because level shoulders will keep the pavement from crumbling.
