A Bristol man is in a Lewiston hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his face after a single-vehicle accident on Route 27 in Boothbay this morning.
Andrew J. Longe, 22, was driving a 1991 Ford pickup truck south on Route 27 at 6:48 a.m., Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Rand Maker said. The truck crossed into the northbound lane, left the roadway, hit a series of mailboxes and signs, and hit a tree.
Longe was extricated from the vehicle, which was totaled, Maker said. A LifeFlight helicopter landed at N.A. Reny Construction Inc. and transported Longe to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
A hospital spokeswoman would not release Longe’s condition, citing the request of the family.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the accident, although it does not suspect alcohol or speed as factors, Maker said.
The accident was immediately south of Jason Circle, Maker said. Longe was wearing a seat belt.
The Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor fire departments, Boothbay Region Ambulance Service and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
