Residents of several roads in Bristol can expect construction to begin soon as a local contractor prepares the roads for paving later in the season.
The Bristol Board of Selectmen accepted the low bid for the work, $11,804, from Joe Winchenbach Inc. May 8.
Crews will replace culverts and perform other prep work on Fir Hollow Road, Leeman Hill Road, Rock School House Road, Salt Pond Road, Southern Point Road, Split Rock Road and a 792-foot stretch of Bristol Road near Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Park.
The roadwork could start as soon as the end of the week, Chairman Bill Benner said. The town plans to pave parts of these roads and three others, Austin Street, Kelly Street and Indian Trail, later in the summer.
