Downed power lines stopped a Bristol Consolidated School bus on Morrison Road near the intersection with Moxie Cove Road in Bristol around 3 p.m. Feb. 25.
The bus, en route to drop off two children who live farther down the road, stopped when the driver saw a tree that had fallen across the road onto power lines, said Bristol Fire Chief Paul Leeman.
“They did exactly what they were supposed to – they just waited,” Leeman said.
Once fire crews arrived, they backed the bus off the road. No one was hurt and the two children arrived home safely, Leeman said.
Power outages were reported on Morrison Road and Reny Road, Leeman said.
