A Bristol woman allegedly hit a pickup truck while drunken driving and texting on School Street in Damariscotta, then left the scene, Tuesday, May 13.
Damariscotta Patrol Officer Jason Warlick said Jennifer S. Clark, 45, was driving a 2003 Hyundai Sonata south on School Street between 1 and 1:30 p.m. She was allegedly texting when she crossed the center line on a corner, Warlick said.
John A. Komorowski, 54, of Damariscotta, was driving a 2013 Toyota Tacoma north on School Street, Warlick said. Clark’s vehicle hit the driver’s side of Komorowski’s vehicle, forcing the truck into a utility pole.
The Tacoma sustained heavy damage, Warlick said. Clark’s vehicle also sustained damage, although not as extensive.
Clark allegedly left the scene. A Lincoln County sheriff’s deputy stopped her shortly thereafter in Bristol. She was charged with OUI and transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset.
Clark also faces charges of driving to endanger and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with property damage, both Class E misdemeanors, and a traffic ticket for texting while driving.
There were no injuries, Warlick said.
Clark was released from the jail on $500 unsecured bail at 5:13 p.m. the same day.
