A Bristol woman faces felony charges after allegedly breaking her husband’s leg by running into him with a car during an argument.
A Lincoln County grand jury recently indicted Deirdre Albert, 39, on a Class B charge of aggravated assault and a Class C charge of domestic violence reckless conduct.
According to a report by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Matthew Day, Albert allegedly hit her husband in the driveway of her friend’s house in South Bristol. The impact threw the man onto the hood of Albert’s vehicle and, subsequently, onto the ground. He later drove himself to the hospital.
Albert, according to the report, told Day she hit her husband with the car during a verbal confrontation. Her husband “began yelling at her [and] coming towards her,” Day wrote. “She stated she told him ‘You come any closer and I will hit you with my car…’ He came closer so she hit him with the car.”
“She stated she didn’t hit him very hard so it shouldn’t have hurt,” Day wrote.
Albert is currently free on $500 cash bail. Her bail conditions forbid the possession or use of alcohol and require her to submit to searches at any time without articulable suspicion or probable cause.
Her arraignment is set for Thurs., Dec. 1 at 8:30 a.m. Her defense attorney, William Avantaggio, did not return a message seeking comment.
