A 32-year-old Bristol woman pleaded guilty to felony theft charges Feb. 26 in connection with her theft and resale of two firearms in spring 2014.
Amanda M. Wallace will remain free on bail per the terms of a court order that delays sentence for a year. If she abides by the terms of the order, the court will sentence her to a fully suspended two years in prison and two years of probation.
If Wallace violates the order, she could face up to the maximum penalty for the charges, two counts each of class B theft by unauthorized taking and class E violation of condition of release.
A class B crime carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. A class E crime carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail.
The court order prohibits the possession or use of alcohol, drugs, and fireams and includes random search and test provisions, among other conditions.
Wallace is due to appear in Lincoln County Superior Court at 1 p.m., Feb. 22, 2016 to determine the final outcome of the case.
Wallace stole an antique Remington 30-06 pump-action hunting rifle from a relative’s home in Damariscotta April 9 and a .22-caliber pistol from a Bristol man May 9, according to court documents and law enforcement. She pawned both of the guns.
