A 20-year-old Brooklyn man pleaded guilty Sept. 25 to a class B felony charge of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (oxycodone) and will serve two years in prison.
Dominic X. Valle was arrested by the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency May 16 after an investigation by MDEA, the Waldoboro Police Department, and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office that spanned several weeks.
At the time, MDEA Special Agent Jason Pease said Ryan Booker, 21, of Waldoboro, was allegedly selling oxycodone pills around town and surveillance revealed his alleged supplier – Valle – was in town.
After a vehicle stop, a consent search of Valle turned up over $4,000 and 24 30-milligram oxycodone pills, according to Pease.
According to an affidavit by Pease, Valle admitted to law enforcement he had brought 290 oxycodone pills to Lincoln County to resell.
A grand jury indicted Valle on Sept. 9 on the trafficking charge and a separate class C felony charge of criminal conspiracy to commit the same.
The conspiracy charge was dismissed as part of the plea, and Valle forfeited the funds law enforcement seized. Valle is required to pay a $515 fine after his release.
A message left for Valle’s attorney, Verne Paradie, was not returned by press time.
Booker was also indicted Sept. 9 on charges of unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs, class B, and conspiracy to commit the same, class C.
At his arraignment Sept. 25, Booker entered pleas of not guilty to both charges, according to court personnel.
Booker’s case is currently headed for trial in February, according to court documents.
