Two drivers sustained minor injuries resulting from a collision between a car and truck on Rt. 1 in Waldoboro near the Manktown Road turnoff around 3 p.m. Thursday.
Austin Soule, 76, was driving his 2002 Chevy Prism in a westerly direction when he struck the back end of a truck stopped in traffic.
Soule crushed in the front end of his vehicle when it struck the tail end of a Chevy 1500 pickup operated by David Hidden, 70, according to Waldoboro patrol officer Lance Mitchell.
“Both were transported (to Miles Memorial Hospital) for what on scene appeared to be minor injuries,” Mitchell said of Soule and Hidden.
According to Mitchell, the pickup was stopped and the driver was waiting for traffic to make a left-hand turn. Both vehicles are expected to be determined as totaled, he said.
