A car that went off the side of Lower Cross Road in Nobleboro the morning of July 12 went airborne over a driveway before coming to a rest, according to Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy Brian Collamore.
The vehicle narrowly missed striking a utility pole by only a few feet, but did strike the mailbox of 81 Lower Cross Road and took out the road sign for Twin Canoe Lane.
Deb Suchar, 40, of Damariscotta, was operating the silver Volkswagen, but was not complaining of any injury while being checked out by members of the Central Lincoln County Ambulance Service, Collamore said. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, he said.
Neither airbag deployed, but Suchar was wearing a seat belt, Collamore said.
Nobleboro Fire Department responded to the scene.
