Franklin and Joanna Holland of Bristol are happy to announce the marriage of Joanna’s son Tristram Carver to Marina Landis Aug. 18.
Tristram is also the son of Clifford Carver of Bernville, Penn. Marina is the daughter of Eva Konstantellou of Lynn, Mass., and David and Carol Landis of Johnson City, Tenn.
The wedding took place at Fort William Henry followed by a reception at the Contented Sole Restaurant.
All the guests enjoyed lobster dinners at Muscongus Bay Lobster on Friday evening. Both the groom’s English-Scottish heritage and the bride’s Greek heritage were celebrated during the wedding service.
The couple met while attending New York University. Marina is an assignment editor for CNN in New York.
Tristram received a master’s degree from Columbia University, has been teaching for the last two years at the Dalton School in Manhattan and has recently begun teaching at a public school in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn.
Tristram has many generations of family roots in Maine. His late grandfather, C. Hasty Thompson was a reporter, columnist, and Homes and Gardens editor for the Portland Press Herald and Sunday Telegram.
His great-grandfather, Ralph A. Leavitt, of Portland wrote the legislation to found the Maine Maritime Academy while a state senator and was the chairman of the board for many years.
Another great-grandfather, Clifford N. Carver of Searsport, was the founding president of the Penobscot Marine Museum and donated the land that became Moose Point State Park.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Carver live in Manhattan with their dog Nesta and train in Central Park for the marathons they run together.
