Two victims of an evening home invasion on Barters Island lost cash and jewelry to the three suspects but didn’t suffer any injuries that required medical treatment, according to a statement from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place March 17 at 556 West Side Rd., the home of Frank and Alice Schambra, who were the victims of the alleged crime. Deputies were summoned to the scene at 8:19 p.m., according to the LCSO.
An initial investigation conducted by the LCSO revealed the suspects entered the home and fled after stealing an undisclosed amount of cash and jewelry. The suspects involved did not display any weapons, but did take steps to conceal their identity, according to the LCSO.
LCSO deputies and detectives spent several hours processing the residence for DNA and fingerprint evidence. A Maine State Police K-9 Unit also responded to the residence and assisted with the recovery of evidence and a direction of travel when the three suspects fled.
Frank Schambra was injured, but not to the extent that required medical attention, according to the LCSO and other reports.
LCSO detectives are continuing their investigation based on information and evidence already developed. The LCSO requests anybody with information to please contact Det. Terry Michaud at 882-7332.
