A two year child died early Monday morning after being struck by a car in Bremen. According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene on Nobleboro Rd. around 7:34 a.m. The child was transported by ambulance to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta where the child later died, according to the LCSO.
According to LCSO Lt. Rand Maker, a family member was operating the car at the time of the accident. LCSO continues to investigate the event but it appears unlikely charges will be filed, Maker said.
Police have not released the identities of the child or the driver. According to the LCSO, they expect to release more details surrounding this event “at an appropriate time.”
