Several vendors will sell their holiday crafts at the hall formerly used as the Dresden Fire Station on Sat., Dec. 5.
The 10th annual Christmas Fair will take place in the restored Pownalborough Hall, a first ever event for the restored hall town that officials hope will draw the crowds. The fair runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Town clerk Trudy Foss said they have 11 tables reserved for the event.
The fire department will also sell Christmas trees in conjunction with the fair, the proceeds of which will go to support the restoration efforts of another building in Dresden – the town hall.
Dresden selectman John Ottum said he wasn’t sure everyone was aware that the Pownalborough Hall had been restored. The restoration included new sheetrock and windows to match the large-paned style of the original windows, a utility room and two bathrooms. The yellow with green trim exterior paint matches the old siding.
Ottum said the hall would be available for other future gatherings such as the Planning Board, Conservation Commission and special town meetings.
