The leading edge of a considerable storm front slid in to Lincoln County Sunday evening, the first wave of a winter blitz that is forecast to leave over 12 inches of snowfall and the possibility of power outages before it chugs out of town Monday evening.
The early morning hours of Monday are presently forecast to bring the heaviest snowfall and highest winds, according to a Blizzard Warning issued Sunday by the National Weather Service (NWS).
Some weather related closures were issued Sunday night. There was a break in school scheduling, so no schools are scheduled to be open Monday.
Weather related closures as of this posting, according to WCSH Channel 6 (click-through on our home page for updates) and other sources, include: Boothbay Harbor YMCA Childcare (closed for the day); Trivia League at 1812 Farm in Bristol (cancelled); Bath Savings branches will have a delayed opening until noon Monday; Boothbay Town Office (closed Monday, Selectmen’s Meeting cancelled); CLC YMCA Damariscotta (facility and Family Center closed Monday); Lincoln County Courthouse (closed Monday); parking ban in Boothbay Harbor from 6 a.m. Monday to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The Blizzard Warning is in effect from 6 p.m. Sunday through 5 p.m. Monday.
