Crews from Central Maine Power Company (CMP), a subsidiary of Iberdrola USA, are out in full force working to fix damage caused by strong winds and heavy rain that moved through Maine Sept. 18.
As of 8:30 a.m. Sept. 19, an estimated 10,500 customer accounts were without service, with 374 listed in Lincoln County.
Damage was reported throughout the utility’s 11,000-square-mile service area, and was most extensive in Kennebec, Sagadahoc, Franklin, and Somerset Counties.
“It was a busy night, and our crews are out in force today to restore power to customers who lost service due to damage from this storm,” said CMP spokesperson Gail Rice.
“We expect to have service restored this afternoon to all but a few customers in the northern parts of our service area, and those final customers should have their service back by late evening,” Rice said.
