Country Farms Restaurant in Whitefield reopened Dec. 30 under new ownership.
Jessica Brillant bought the restaurant earlier this month and said the reopening will be a return to the way Country Farms used to be.
They’re bringing back some favorite menu items that had been missing, such as the famous stuffed mushrooms and herb-rubbed chicken. They’re going back to the old binder-style menus and doing away with the expensive wine list.
“This is Whitefield,” Brillant said. “People want beer.”
One recent change that Brillant will be keeping is the pub that opened about five months ago. The pub welcomes patrons age 21 and older, and is open for a few hours after the rest of the restaurant closes. It plays host to live music from 8-11 p.m. every Saturday.
The cook at Country Farms, Dave Hodgkins, is glad to be returning to the way things were.
“There were too many changes,” Hodgkins said. “I think we’re going to have a lot of people coming back that will be happy to see we’re not changing things around all the time anymore.”
To celebrate the opening, Country Farms will host a New Year’s Eve party from 9-12:30 p.m. tonight. There will be live music and prizes. The party is in the pub and is 21-plus.
“Other than that, we’re really not doing anything special,” Brillant said. “Just opening the doors back up.”
