A Massachusetts couple was killed in Waldoboro April 18 when an oncoming vehicle crossed the center line and struck their car.
Peggy Aldrich, 70, and Raymond Thompson, 68, both of Whitinsville, Mass. were traveling in the area for a wedding, Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde said April 21.
The couple was headed northbound in a 2014 Mitsubishi when a southbound 2007 Dodge Caliber, operated by Edward Bean, 63, of Waldoboro, crossed the center line and struck their car, according to a press release from Labombarde
Emergency personnel were paged out to the scene at 1:24 p.m.

Bean was transported by Waldoboro EMS to the Miles Campus of LincolnHealth in Damariscotta for non-life threatening injuries, but was subsequently transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, according to Labombarde.
Bean was listed in satisfactory condition as of April 22, according to Maine Medical Center personnel.
No charges have been filed and the crash is still under investigation, but neither alcohol, drugs, speeding, nor driver distraction were factors, Labombarde said April 21. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is reconstructing the accident, he said.
