A Damariscotta couple was arrested Monday after two sets of parents complained their daughters were given a variety of pills, marijuana and vodka in a weekend long party.
One parent told police she went to the party house on Church Street to ask if her daughter was there and a woman replied by spitting in her face.
The parents brought their daughters, age 18 and 20, to Miles Memorial Hospital for treatment. One is still being treated.
The parents said the hospital found the two daughters had injested marijuana, alcohol, clozapine, an anti-psychotic, and Vicodin, a powerful painkiller, police said.
The daughters were unable to tell their parents what had happened during a two-day party at the Church Street residence
Angela Dunning Robbins, 36, and her husband, Justin Robbins, 20, who live at the Church Street address, were charged with a variety of offenses including unlawful possession of scheduled drugs, unlawful furnishing scheduled drugs, and trafficking in dangerous knives and allowing a minor to consume alcohol.
They were taken to the Two Bridges Jail awaiting a court appearance.
Damariscotta Police Chief Steven Drake said the arrests came after police obtained a search warrant to search the Robbins’ garage apartment late Sunday night. They located illicit drugs hidden in the ceiling over the bathroom medicine cabinet.
“The apartment was a mess. It was full of trash, mold, and garbage. In addition to prescription drugs, police confiscated several kittens, several finches and a turtle,” Drake said.
“When the two women did not come home for two days, the parents found out from others that they were at the Church Street residence.
“When (the mother) and her husband went to get their daughter, Angela Dunning Robbins spit in the mother’s face,” Drake said.
The parents called police and one of the daughters told them the illicit drugs were kept in the ceiling over the medicine cabinet in the bath room.
Police confiscated a variety of assorted pills and several knives, Drake said.
