Dunkin’ Donuts in Damariscotta recently reopened after completing a renovation to freshen up the store’s appearance.
Store Manager Madalynn Moon said the corporation requires stores to remodel every 10 years. The Damariscotta Dunkin’ Donuts, at 434 Main St., opened in October 2006.
“We did ours a little early because we wanted to get it done before summer and when the tourists come,” Moon said.
The store closed the afternoon of Memorial Day and renovations began Tuesday, May 31. Changes include new flooring and a new interior paint job.
New chairs and tables were brought in and new lighting was installed, replacing fluorescent lights with softer lighting, Moon said.
“We wanted it to be more inviting,” Moon said.
In addition to the changes to the lobby, improvements were made in the workspace behind the counter, Moon said. A new breakfast sandwich station and an additional espresso machine have helped increase efficiency, Moon said.
The store also installed digital menu boards behind the counter, replacing the previous boards that had to be changed by hand.
Dunkin’ Donuts officially reopened for business Friday, June 10. Moon said she has heard nothing but positive comments from customers about the change.
“It’s really been a good change,” Moon said. “The updated look is a bit more professional with the warmer colors, and it’s been great for us behind the counter too.”
