The deadline to file for re-election to Damariscotta public office passed Monday with a trio of longtime public officials failing to submit nomination petitions.
Cheryl Pinkham, the town clerk, said Selectman Joshua Pinkham, Great Salt Bay School Board chairman Jim Cosgrove and Winton Jacobs, a longtime member of the Great Salt Bay Sanitary District board of Directors did not submit re-election papers.
Three candidates submitted papers seeking two eligible seats on the board of selectmen. They are incumbent David Atwater, Ronn Orenstein and Samuel Tibbetts, said Pinkham.
No one presented petitions for election to the GSB school board or the sanitary district board, Pinkham said.
Despite the lack of candidates, the positions can still be filled by write-in candidates at the June 8 primary election.
