Damariscotta Lake Farm in Jefferson will hold a fundraiser for the Washington Advent Christian Camp, where fire destroyed several buildings this summer, on Saturday, Dec. 3.
Festivities will start at 8 p.m. According to Anita Kirkpatrick, manager at Damariscotta Lake Farm, the benefit has a $6 cover charge and $1 from each cover will go to the camp in Washington.
Kirkpatrick said the evening will feature DJ Matt James, of the country radio station B98.5.
Saturday evening’s event will not be the first fundraiser at Damariscotta Lake Farm to benefit the Christian camp in Washington.
Pam Jameson, a waitress at the Jefferson restaurant, organized a spaghetti supper to benefit the camp in September. Jameson said the supper was held at Damariscotta Lake Farm on Sept. 17 and raised approximately $2,700 for the camp.
Jameson said she was very grateful Kirkpatrick offered the restaurant as a place to hold the September fundraiser.
According to the Bangor Daily News, the fire at the camp on Dorman Road the evening of Aug. 22 destroyed multiple buildings, including a dining hall, a kitchen, a dormitory, three cabins, and a children’s chapel.
There were no injuries; the camp was vacant at the time. Crews from eight midcoast and central Maine fire departments responded to the scene to contain and extinguish the blaze.
Crews from Appleton, Hope, Jefferson, Liberty, Somerville, Union, Washington, and Whitefield were all part of the response effort.
