Damariscotta Police officers arrested a former Damariscotta resident five times during the month of May.
Zachary Overlock, 22, was arrested March 13 on a charge of violation of condition of release.
Damariscotta Police returned to Two Bridges Regional Jail May 3, 15, 21, 22 and 25 to re-arrest Overlock for allegedly violating bail conditions and a protective order that forbid him from contacting his ex-girlfriend, a Damariscotta resident.
Damariscotta Police Chief Chad Andrews said Overlock first contacted the woman by phone and, after losing his phone privileges at the jail, contacted her by mail.
Damariscotta Police have since imposed a bail condition that forbids Overlock to return to Damariscotta.
Police records list a Waldoboro address for Overlock, but he lived with the ex-girlfriend until the March arrest, Andrews said.
