The Damariscotta Police Department reports the following activity:
July 28, Officer Jennifer Doe responded to a complaint of an obnoxious smell in the downtown business area, which turned out to be rotting garbage.
July 28, Chief Steven Drake took a complaint of a violation of a protection order.
July 29, Officer Jennifer Doe responded to a two vehicle accident at the drive up window of First National Bank. Rochelle L. Brodeur, 36 of Wiscasset was at the drive-up window in her 2007 Hyundai when the rear of her vehicle was struck by Ethel M. Herald, 74 of Damariscotta. Herald was driving a 1999 Ford, which received approximately $15 worth of damage and there was approximately $300 damage to Ms. Brodeurs vehicle.
July 29, Officer Jennifer Doe responded to a two vehicle accident at Mediterranean Kitchen. Nicolas Maragoudakis, 55 of Nobleboro was backing out of Mediterranean Kitchen in his 2002 Chevrolet when he struck the tire of a 2001 Harvester/Navistar which was legally parked by Aaron Rasmussen 36 of Fairfield. There was no damage to the Maragoudakis’ vehicle and approximately $300 damage to Mr. Rasmussen’s vehicle.
July 30, Officer Richard Alexander took a criminal mischief complaint from the maintenance man for Pond Circle. Someone had thrown a rock through the Pond Circle Sign causing approximately $350 worth of damage.
July 30, Megan I. Legasse, 24 of Waldoboro was summonsed to court for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer at Hannaford.
Aug. 1, Derek Juchnik, 17 of Newcastle was summonsed to court for failure to stop for a red light.
Aug. 3, Jeffery Chapman, 46 of Damariscotta was summonsed to court for operating with an expired registration greater than 150 days and received a citation for not providing evidence of insurance and not having an inspection sticker.
