The Damariscotta Police Dept. responded to 119 calls including motor vehicle stops, arrests, calls for service etc. for the week of Nov. 16-22 and 134 calls for the same reasons for the week of Nov. 23- Dec. 1.
Among the calls, Damariscotta Police Department reports the following:
Nov. 18, Officer Jennifer Mitkus took a complaint from a concerned parent which turned out to be a civil issue. The parent was advised to contact the school.
Nov. 25, Officer Mark Doe responded to a complaint from a citizen on Main St. of a mangy looking fox.
Nov. 28, Officer Aaron Beck responded to Hannaford for a complaint of a theft.
Nov. 30, Officer Jennifer Mitkus warned an Augusta resident that she could be charged with phone harassment if she didn’t stop calling her ex-boyfriend.
Nov. 21, Officer Jennifer Mitkus responded to an accident at Damariscotta Hardware involving Lamar M. Seiders, 92 of South Bristol. Mr. Seiders turned into the driveway and failed to see that the gate was across the driveway. He struck the gate with his 1999 Ford causing approximately $950 damage.
Nov. 27, Officer Richard Alexander responded to a motor vehicle accident on Water St. involving Iris Selig, 60 of Damariscotta. Selig was making a left turn from Main St. onto Water St. in her 2001 Toyota when she failed to see a pedestrian in the crosswalk. She struck the pedestrian who was transported by CLC ambulance to Miles Memorial Hospital.
Nov. 29, Officer Jennifer Mitkus responded to a motor vehicle accident on Main St. While traveling north in his 1999 Saab Myron R. Sawyer, 79 of Nobleboro struck a southbound 2002 Chrysler operated by Louise J. Burke, 55 of Damariscotta as Burke was attempting to make a left turn into Hannaford. There was approximately $1300 damage to Sawyer’s vehicle and approximately $6500 damage to Burke’s vehicle.
Nov. 17, Kristie M. Creamer, 31 of Bremen was summonsed to court for failing to wear a seatbelt.
Nov. 17, Thomas W. Cost, 22 of Newcastle was summonsed to court for failing to wear a seatbelt.
