Damariscotta Police Report

The Damariscotta police report the following activities from the previous week which involved 82 calls including motor vehicle stops, arrests, calls for service, etc. for this week.

Arrests and summonsesOn Feb. 10, Adam P. Lachance, 31 of Rockport was summonsed to court for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

On Feb. 10, Jill R. Rice, 55 of Bristol was arrested for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

On Feb. 11, Terry L. Elwell, 33, of Damariscotta was arrested for domestic violence assault and violation of conditions of release.

On Feb. 12, Cynthia R. Troxel, 57 of New Harbor was summonsed to court for attaching false plates.

On Feb. 15, Douglas Churchill, 26 of Waldoboro was summonsed to court for possession of marijuana and sale and use of drug paraphernalia.

Dennis M. Zaccadelli, 43 of Bristol, was arrested on a warrant for unpaid fines.

AccidentsOn Feb. 9, Sgt. Chad Andrews responded to a two vehicle accident in front of Puffin Stop involving Louis F. Abbotoni, 68, of Damariscotta, and Krista N. Campbell, 23 of Warren. Campbell was in the left hand lane intending to go straight and Abbotoni was in the right hand lane intending to turn right onto Biscay Road. Campbell made a last minute decision to turn right into the parking lot of Puffin Stop, turning in front of Abbotoni causing him to strike the rear of her vehicle. There was approximately $1000 damage to Abbotoni’s 2003 Toyota, and approximately $1000 damage to Ms. Campbell’s 2002 Ford.

On Feb. 14, Officer Jennifer Mitkus responded to a motor vehicle accident on U.S. Rt. 1 involving Vernon M. Gerrish, 82, of Stratham, N.H. Gerrish was traveling South on Rt. 1 in his 2001 Ford when he struck a sign post on the median strip causing approximately $3500 damage to his vehicle.

ComplaintsOn Feb. 13, Officer Richard Alexander took a report from Kelly A. Steppe, 40 of Damariscotta of damage to her vehicle.
