Damariscotta Police report the following activity:
Officer Jennifer Mitkus took a call that a pedestrian was extremely intoxicated walking in the travel lane of Lessner Road; and subsequently was walking down the middle of the roadway and had almost been struck by a vehicle; responded to the intersection of Main and Elm Street and removed material from the roadway that was causing a traffic hazard; and, conducted numerous property checks at area businesses.
Nov. 30, Officer Jennifer Mitkus responded to Chapman Hall House on a report of a burglar alarm; responded to Miles Memorial Hospital Emergency Room to assist with getting blue papers signed on a patient; responded to report of erratic vehicle operation; and, conducted numerous property checks.
Chief Chad Andrews conducted a compliance check-in on a bailee; assisted the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office with attempting to locate a subject involved in a crime; and responded to Miles Street on a report of a motor vehicle accident.
Officer Richard Alexander took a report of suspicious activity at a local business; responded to and removed debris from Main Street on a report of a traffic hazard; and took a complaint of harassment.
Dec. 1, Officer Aaron Beck took a report of a juvenile problem at a local housing development; responded to a local business on a report of a burglar alarm; conducted a compliance check in on a bailee; responded to a report of a theft of a motor vehicle from a local business; responded to a report of an erratic operation on Rt. 1; conducted a compliance check in on a bailee; and, responded to a local business on a report of a burglar alarm.
Officer Richard Alexander responded to the Lessner Road on a report of numerous pigs in the roadway; responded to a local business on a report of suspicious activity.
Dec. 3, Officer Richard Alexander responded to Miles Street on a report that a psychiatric patient had jumped from a vehicle and ran away while traveling to the hospital. Subject located and returned; and, responded to the Biscay Road on a report of heavy smoke – caller advised unable to locate fire.
Officer Jennifer Mitkus conducted two compliance checks on bailees; responded to a report of an erratic operation on Rt. 1.
Dec. 4, Officer Aaron Beck took a complaint of harassment; conducted a compliance check in on a bailee.
Officer Adam Lewis assisted Augusta Police Dept. with attempting to locate a subject; and, conducted a welfare check on a patient who left Miles Memorial Hospital Emergency Room upset and had made suicidal statements to the Emergency Room Staff.
Dec. 5, Officer Richard Alexander responded to an area business on a report of suspicious activity.
Officer Aaron Beck conducted a compliance check in on a bailee; responded to the Damariscotta Fire Dept. on a report of a burglar alarm.
Officer Mark Doe responded to a local bank on a report of a burglar alarm.
Officer Jennifer Mitkus conducted numerous property checks at area businesses.
Dec. 6, Officer Aaron Beck conducted two compliance checks on bailees.
Dec. 1, Kenneth R. Snyder, 43 of Jefferson was summonsed for operating after suspension.
Kyle M. McKenney, 49, of Damariscotta, was summonsed for speeding 15-19 mph over the posted speed limit.
Dec. 3, a juvenile was summonsed for carrying a passenger beyond interim license.
Dec. 4, Vernon W. Bosworth, Jr., 51, of South Bristol, was summonsed to court for criminal mischief.
Dec. 5, a juvenile was summonsed to court for operating a motor vehicle without a license, sale and use of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of liquor by a minor by consumption.
Dec. 1, Officer Aaron Beck responded to High Street for a one-vehicle accident involving Kenneth R. Snyder, 43 of Jefferson who was operating a 2007 Honda. Snyder was traveling south on High Street when he drifted into the left lane leaving the roadway and striking a tree.
Dec. 1, Officer Aaron Beck responded to the intersection of School and Main streets on a report of a two-vehicle motor vehicle accident involving Lexie H. Fossett, 17, of Newcastle, operating a 1999 Saab and Harold W. Fossett, 57, of Bristol, operating a 1994 Ford. H. Fossett was stopped in traffic on Main Street waiting to make a left hand turn onto School Street. L. Fossett was traveling south on Main Street and struck the rear of H. Fossett’s vehicle.
Dec. 3, Officer Jennifer Mitkus responded to Main Street for a report of a motor vehicle-deer accident involving Hubert Holm, of Newcastle, and his 2004 Toyota.
Damariscotta Police Dept. responded to 142 calls including motor vehicle stops, arrests, calls for service, etc. during this one-week period of time.
