Dec. 28, 2014: Officer Kyle Sylvester investigated an accident at Mr. Mike’s Market on Main Street. Alison Lee, 38, of Bremen, was driving a 2013 Chevy Suburban. She backed out of a parking space and struck an unoccupied 2002 Subaru Legacy.
Dec. 31, 2014: Officer Dotson investigated a two-vehicle accident at Hannaford. Letah Ryan, 73, of Cushing, was driving a 2008 Toyota Prius and Patricia Collamore, 61, of Bremen, was driving a 2009 Honda Civic.
Dec. 31, 2014: Officer Erick Halpin investigated a car-deer accident in the area of Hannaford. Julie Krug, of Damariscotta, was issued a tag for the deer.
Officer Halpin took a found property complaint on Elm Street.
Dec. 23, 2014: Officer Dotson took a bad check complaint from Rising Tide on Main Street.
Officer Dotson assisted a citizen locked out of their vehicle on Elm Street.
Officer Dotson took a report of possible counterfeit money from Hilltop Stop.
Dec. 24, 2014: Officer Dotson took an informational complaint regarding a wallet stolen in August 2014.
Chief Young investigated a report of gunshots on Pleasant Street.
Chief Young took a report of a juvenile problem on Pine Ridge Road.
Chief Young took an informational complaint from Rite-Aid.
Dec. 25, 2014: Officer Sylvester investigated a suspicious activity complaint in the area of Keene Woods Road.
Dec. 26, 2014: Officer Sylvester conducted a well-being check on Standpipe Drive.
Dec. 27, 2014: Officer Mark Graham took a phone harassment complaint on Ledgewood Court.
Dec. 29, 2014: Officer Dotson did a well-being check on Church Street. The individual was all set.
Officer Halpin investigated a report of a male in a hooded sweatshirt hitchhiking on Bristol Road. The subject was not located.
Dec. 30, 2014: Officer Dotson assisted with a disabled motor vehicle near The First on Main Street.
Dec. 31, 2014: Officer Dotson investigated a report of stolen license plates on Standpipe Road.
Chief Young took a report of criminal mischief to a backhoe on Back Meadow Road.
Officer Dotson investigated a traffic hazard on Biscay Road. A vehicle was losing construction material. The items were removed.
Officer Halpin assisted a citizen that was locked out of their vehicle at Yellowfront Grocery.
Chief Young took a report of criminal mischief on Blue Haven Lane.
Jan. 1: Officer Dotson conducted a radar detail on Bristol Road.
Officer Sylvester investigated suspicious activity on Church Street.
Jan. 2: Officer Halpin took a report of littering on Back Meadow Road.
Officer Sylvester investigated an erratic vehicle complaint.
Jan. 3: Officer Graham investigated a harassment complaint at Dunkin’ Donuts.
Officer Graham investigated a trespassing complaint on Belvedere Road.
Officer Graham took a lost property complaint.
Officer Sylvester assisted with several vehicles that needed to be removed from Main Street and the Day Block area for snow removal.
Jan. 4: Officer Devin Polizzotti investigated a burglary complaint on Pinkham Road.
Officer Polizzotti assisted with a disabled motor vehicle in the area of Main Street and Back Meadow Road.
Officer Polizzotti investigated a report of a domestic dispute on Church Street.
The Damariscotta Police Department responded to 164 calls for service for the time period of Dec. 22, 2014 to Jan. 4, including 52 traffic stops, 34 property checks, two criminal mischief complaints, one burglary complaint, and one complaint of counterfeit money.
The Damariscotta Police Department would like to wish everyone a safe and prosperous new year.
As of Jan. 1, the green state inspection stickers have expired. The department reminds anyone with a green sticker on their windshield to have their vehicle inspected. The silver stickers are good for this year. The fine for an uninspected vehicle is $133. There is a grace period of 30 days after the sticker has run out, unless the motorist gets stopped. Then the grace period is only a couple of days.
