AccidentAug. 30: Officer Jim Dotson investigated a two-vehicle accident on Main Street. Lyndell Brackett, of Newcastle, was driving a 2002 Jeep, and Trever Jones, of Newcastle, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet. No injuries were reported.

MiscellaneousAug. 23: Officer Kyle Sylvester assisted with a parking problem on Biscay Road, conducted a compliance check-in on Egypt Road, and assisted a citizen with parking questions on Parking Lot Lane.

Aug. 24: Officer Dotson assisted with a search warrant on Main Street and assisted with a harassment-by-phone complaint at the station.

Chief Ron Young is investigating a report of theft from Damariscotta Hardware.

Sgt. Jason Warlick conducted an escort on Main Street.

Aug. 25: Officer Dotson issued warnings for registration and speeding on Bristol Road, speeding on Bristol Road, and speeding on Main Street.

Sgt. Warlick investigated a report of shoplifting on Main Street and conducted a pedestrian check on Main Street.

Aug. 26: Officer Tyson Fait conducted a radar detail on Bristol Road and issued a warning for speeding on Miles Street.

Chief Young assisted a citizen with a car seat inspection at the station.

Sgt. Warlick conducted a welfare check on Back Meadow Road, took a police information report on Coastal Market Drive, assisted a citizen with a vehicle lockout on Main Street, took a report of an erratic vehicle on Route 1, and investigated a report of suspicious activity on Main Street.

Aug. 27: Officer Fait conducted a radar detail on Bristol Road and assisted a citizen on Westview Road.

Chief Young assisted with a stray dog on Biscay Road, took a late report of a property damage accident on Main Street, took a phone-harassment complaint on Back Meadow Road, and assisted a citizen at the station.

Officer Sylvester took a report of a disabled motor vehicle on Bristol Road, took a found property complaint at McDonald’s on Main Street, investigated a police information report on Main Street, and issued two warnings for vehicle defects on Main Street.

Aug. 28: Sgt. Warlick investigated an alarm on Main Street, took a report of a phone scam on Headgate Road, responded to a report of a disabled motor vehicle on Route 1, assisted with a tree blocking Egypt Road, took a report of an erratic vehicle on Route 1, took a report of found property on School Street, assisted a citizen at the police department with an inspection permit, conducted an OUI detail, issued a warning for speeding on Main Street, and issued warnings for vehicle defects on Biscay Road and Main Street.

Officer Sylvester issued warnings for a stoplight violation and a vehicle defect on Main Street.

Sgt. Warlick and Officer Sylvester responded to a report of juveniles jumping off the Newcastle-Damariscotta bridge on Main Street.

Aug. 29: Officer Sylvester investigated an alarm on Main Street, investigated a police information report, issued warnings for speeding and a vehicle defect on Main Street, and took a report of an erratic vehicle on Route 1.

Officer Dotson investigated an alarm on Main Street and investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle on Miles Street.

Aug. 30: Officer Dotson investigated a report of a dog in a vehicle on Elm Street, took found property reports at the station, and investigated a report of theft from a vehicle on Main Street.
