The fence protecting the dormant Twin villages Marina and Town Homes project on Main St. has been reinstalled, but the project is officially on hold.
Newcastle town administrator Ron Grenier said Bob Martin of Mattson Development in Saco told him the project is officially on hold for the next year.
Grenier told the Newcastle Board of Selectmen Monday that Martin told him the company plans to remove the steel structure and demolish the cinder block elevator shaft in June.
Two weeks ago, the selectmen asked Grenier to ask Mattson to rebuild the fencing protecting the project from vandals and children.
