The Dresden Planning Board approved an application for the construction of a boat ramp at Eastern River Marine Services after a brief public hearing at Pownalborough Hall Tuesday, Nov. 17.
Dave Lynch and Ken Stewart Jr. own the boatyard. The ramp – a second phase of the young business’s development – will allow the boatyard to haul bigger boats instead of trucking the boats in.
The business plans to allow public use of the ramp during business hours and emergency use at all hours.
The 4-0-1 vote comes with a condition for the business to obtain a permit from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection and comply with all other applicable laws and regulations.
Stewart sits on the planning board and abstained from the vote.
