A Dresden man was found lying on Rt. 27 after an apparent hit and run on Dec. 6.
Police said that around 7:45 a.m., Patrick Bailey, 26, of Dresden, was stopped to help his girlfriend whose car had broken down on Rt. 27 about .5 miles north of the Wiscasset town line.
Bailey told police his girlfriend drove off and he was walking back to his car, when an unknown vehicle struck Bailey. Another driver found Bailey lying in the travel lane, stopped to help him and called police.
Emergency medical crews checked Bailey out. He reportedly complained of a hip injury and minor head injury, but was not transported to the hospital.
