The driver of a midsize Chevy pickup truck is “lucky to be alive,” said Nobleboro Fire Chief Ryan Gallagher at the scene of single-vehicle crash on East Pond Road in Nobleboro at around 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 20.
The driver, whose name is not known at this time, was southbound on East Pond Road when his steering wheel locked up, and he lost control, Gallagher said. The truck flipped end-over-end and came to rest on its roof in the woods next to the road.
The driver suffered only cuts and scrapes, but was transported via ambulance to Miles Memorial Hospital, Gallagher said.
