Edgecomb residents approved a series of zoning changes without dissent in an Oct. 14 special town meeting to clear the way for construction of the town’s new fire station.
The articles, all amendments to the Edgecomb Land Use Ordinance, provide exceptions to zoning rules for municipal structures.
After the meeting, Assistant Fire Chief Larry Omland said the fire department is “relieved.”
“We’re fortunate that we can move ahead,” Omland said. “This is the last bump in the road. Hopefully it’s going to be smooth sailing.”
