An Old Orchard Beach man who escaped form the Bolduc Correctional Facility in Warren last month was recaptured in Scarborough earlier today.
Clifford Perkins, 26, was taken into custody around 1:30 p.m. in the woods off Rt. 22 in North Scarborough by members of the Southern Maine Regional SWAT team.
Perkins was serving time for burglary in Bolduc. He was last seen in the minimum-security facility around 9 p.m. Nov. 21.
On Monday morning, Nov. 24, a truck belonging to the Friendship Trap Company was found abandoned on an access road nears Hunter’s Hill in Bristol. Police would not confirm Perkins was suspected of the theft but the discovery of the truck triggered a “full response” according to State Police Sgt. Jeremy Westrock.
Mark Wadsworth, the production manager for the trap company, said Perkins once worked for the trap company as part of a corrections work program.
“He was a good worker. I thought; I hoped he would turn his life around,” said Wadsworth.
