A Damariscotta Police Department investigation into shoplifting at Renys has resulted in the arrest of a 23-year-old Waldoboro woman on a felony drug-trafficking charge.
Becky L. Condon also faces charges of drug possession and theft, Damariscotta Deputy Police Chief Chad Andrews said.
The Damariscotta Police Department posted a video of a woman suspected of stealing shoes from the downtown department store on the department Facebook page Sept. 6.
The post asked viewers to contact the department if able to identify the woman or her male companion.
The department received an anonymous tip identifying the woman as Condon and obtained a search warrant for her residence.
Damariscotta Deputy Police Chief Chad Andrews, Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde and Waldoboro Patrol Officer Jeffery Fuller executed the search warrant Sept. 24.
The officers found approximately two pounds of marijuana in the residence, as well as hypodermic needles and the prescription drug Percocet in powder form, Andrews said.
Percocet, a painkiller, contains oxycodone hydrochloride and acetaminophen.
