A two-vehicle head-on accident occurred on Rt. 1 in Waldoboro just north of Rt. 235 around 11 a.m. on June 8, that claimed the life of an unnamed subject, according to Waldoboro Police Officer Tom Hoepner.
As of 11:45 a.m., Rt. 1 remains shut down to through traffic for accident reconstruction. Traffic is being re-routed.
According to Hoepner there were multiple injuries. Waldoboro EMS transported victims to Miles Hospital. After family has been notified, Waldoboro Police Chief Bill Labombarde will issue a press release update.
Officer Hoepner did say there were three individuals in a truck, one a fatality and the two others were “seriously injuried.” The single driver of the second vehicle was also transported to Miles Hospital, but according to Hoepner, the seriousness of injuries is unknown at this time.
Waldoboro fire, police, EMS, and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
