The December fire that killed a 69-year-old woman at her Bristol home was “intentionally set” and authorities continue to investigate to determine who was responsible.
Sgt. Ken Grimes of the State Fire Marshal’s Office said the decision about whether to file a criminal complaint “depends on where the investigation takes us.” He said he expects to have an update in 1-2 weeks if the investigation continues to progress.
Lynn Ring, 69, died in the Dec. 9 garage fire at the 16 Oceanside Lane home she shared with her husband, John Ring. John Ring sustained burns to his hands.
The fire, the second in two years at the same address, destroyed the garage and a Mercedes Benz convertible and caused limited damage to the home.
