Fire destroyed an abandoned home at 69 Middle Rd. in Boothbay Harbor in the early hours of Tuesday, June 30.
Boothbay Harbor Fire Chief Nick Upham said the fire was reported at 3:45 a.m. and was “fully involved” when the Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, and Southport fire departments arrived at the scene.
“The whole building is a total loss,” Upham said.
The fire is currently under investigation, with no confirmed cause yet. At this time, there are no reports of injuries or of anyone inside the structure when the fire started.
Upham said the property owner is unknown as the building was for sale and it is unclear whether the building was the property of the bank or an individual. According to Upham, the building has been abandoned for the past two years.
