The first baby born at LincolnHealth in the New Year arrived Jan. 2, dodging an ice storm, a blizzard and artic temperatures.
Katie Tremblay and Diano Circo welcomed daughter Wren, their second child, at 3:40 p.m., following a short labor.
Katie Tremblay and Diano Circo welcomed daughter Wren on Jan. 2 at the Miles Campus of LincolnHealth Hospital. Wren was the first baby born at LincolnHealth in 2014. Her big brother Nolan, 4, is pictured with dad.
Circo said Wren showed good timing by arriving during a lull in a week of wintry weather. After she was born, dad was able to get home in time to read big brother Nolan, 4, his bedtime stories.
Tremblay and Circo live in Hallowell, but chose LincolnHealth because Tremblay likes the personal care and support she experienced with the Lincoln Medical Partners Midwives at the Women’s Center on the Miles Campus of LincolnHealth. Tremblay also had Nolan on the Miles Campus with a Women’s Center midwife.
Nurse-Midwife Cindy Pepper-Morin is Tremblay’s midwife. Pepper-Morin has office hours at Lincoln Medical Partners Family Medicine Wiscasset, which is more convenient for patients like Tremblay, who works in Hallowell.
“It is very personal, they make you feel very well cared for,” Tremblay said. She also chose a water birth, because she felt it took some of the pain out of delivery.
