A former South Bristol resident, 16, was shot and killed Feb. 8 in Raeford, N.C. while allegedly attempting to rob a furniture store at gunpoint.
Hoke County Sheriff Hubert Peterkin told the Fayette Observer that David R. Frame was armed with a rifle and was fatally shot after a struggle with the store owner.
Frame’s family believes he was forced to participate in the robbery by two other suspects, according to a letter from his father posted on a memorial Facebook page.
Frame was the son of Michael and Tonya Frame. He was a 2010 graduate of South Bristol School, where he was a student from 2008-2010. He attended Lincoln Academy during his freshman year before moving to Raeford in the middle of his sophomore year.
The Lincoln County News will post more information here and in the Feb. 14 print edition.
