The former Wiscasset Primary School is for sale again.
The 54,000-square-foot building and 11.6 acres on Gardiner Road went on the market Aug. 15. The listing price is $795,000.
In early 2017, JSJ Holdings LLC bought the property from the town of Wiscasset for $505,000.
The company planned to create 20-25 one- or two-bedroom apartments and market them for senior living, general housing, or mixed housing.
Associate Broker Timothy Millett, of CB Richard Ellis/The Boulos Co., in Portland, is listing the property. Millett said the owners would consider a joint venture as well.
“The owner is open to any and all partnership agreements,” Millett said in an email.
Millett said the current owners would like the property to be used as some kind of care facility.
The town first listed the school for sale in 2015. The Wiscasset School Committee voted to close the school in late 2014 due to declining enrollment throughout the school department.
A citizen’s petition led to a townwide referendum on the school committee’s decision. The final vote to close the school was 367-133.
Wiscasset now educates its students at the Wiscasset Elementary School from pre-kindergarten through grade five, and Wiscasset Middle High School from grade six through high school.
