The National Weather Service (NWS) has withdrawn a Winter Weather Advisory that was originally in effect through 4 p.m. on Friday.
At the time of this posting, snowfall in the Lincoln County area was rapidly changing over to rainfall. The current NWS forecast calls for continued rainfall through the day on Friday.
Several inches of snow fell overnight, making roads a bit slippery for early morning commuters. No major accidents or incidents were reported.
A two-hour delay was reported for Lincoln Academy, Edgecomb Eddy School, Southport Central School, and Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor Schools. Primary schools in Waldoboro were reportedly closed for the day because of the storm.
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for areas near Lincoln County, including Kennebec County.
