Treasure Hunterz, a store featuring gems from Maine, has opened at 279 Bath Rd. (Rt.1) in Wiscasset next to Huber’s Market. Owner Becky Zagwyn says the shop “offers buckets of fun and is an educational, fun adventure.”
Treasure Hunterz’ owner said she has gone to the western mountains of the state and brought back “truck loads of mine tailings from operating gem mines to give area people a chance to take home some of Maine’s famous gems like tourmaline, beryl, garnets and more. People can dig their own pail of gem dirt. A knowledgeable attendant will help during the process. We also offer an international blend bucket that has minerals from around the world, like peridot, sodalite, emeralds, jaspers, rubies, and sapphires.”
The store will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week rain or shine. There will also be “Mine and Dine specials” coordinated with Huber’s Market.
Prices start at $10 for an individual and for a family of four, $35. The store also offers birthday packages and group rates. Call for pricing on group offers and for any other information, at 582-3261 or treasurehunterzme@gmail.com.
