It’s October, and that means dress up in pink, and join the 9th annual Breast Cancer Tennis Tournament on Thurs., Oct. 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the CLC YMCA in Damariscotta.
It is always a very special day at the Y. It is truly a feel good day, a good cause, a group of good women, good tennis, good food and good prizes.
Debby Schling and Patti Corscaden with Tennis Pro Lisa Gilbride, have generously offered to once again chair this event, so that assures its success.
The focus will be on empowering women’s health.
There will be seated massages, educational information and, of course, the key to all women’s health, shopping opportunities.
Gail Perry will be here with her Tennis Traditions tennis clothing. These will be “a deal” as she is going out of business. She always gives 10 percent of all her sales to the tournament. So come, play, shop, learn, eat and laugh.
The Entry Fee is $25 with all proceeds going to Damariscotta Making Strides and the American Cancer Society
The tournament is luck of the draw (all partners are picked out of a hat), in a round robin format, with players playing probably four or five rounds, and then playoffs start for the top four teams.
Please sign up at the YMCA front desk soon, as space is limited. Checks should be made out to: American Cancer Society, Damariscotta Making Strides.
