Governor John E. Baldacci today ordered that the United States flag and the State of Maine flag be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Thurs., July 30, in the towns of Newcastle and Damariscotta in remembrance of Robert H. Reny, founder of Renys. The company is headquartered in Newcastle and the first store was opened in Damariscotta in 1949. In addition, the Governor has directed flags at all 14 Renys stores to be flown at half-staff on Thursday.
The funeral for Mr. Reny is scheduled for Thurs., July 30 in Newcastle.
