A Grand Jury indicted Lisa Barlow, the Manchester woman who allegedly stole over $1200 from the Wiscasset Middle School Parent-Teacher Council, Feb. 16 on two related counts.
The first, a charge of Theft by Unauthorized Taking, is a Class C crime, while the second, Attempted Theft, is a Class E crime.
Barlow, for four years the organizer of a fall fundraiser at the school, allegedly stole $833 in cash after the September 2010 event. Later, on Jan. 3, Barlow allegedly stole another $400 from the Parent-Teacher Council’s account at The First with a fraudulent withdrawal.
Barlow allegedly attempted to withdraw funds from the account again on Jan. 4 at two The First locations, but the bank denied the requests, leading to the Attempted Theft charge.
Barlow also faces possible extradition to Pennsylvania, where, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, she is in contempt of court for failure to pay restitution after passing $2900 in bad checks.
