Greely defeated the Lincoln Academy Eagles 3-0 for the West B Regional baseball title at Saint Joseph’s College in Standish June 18. All three Greely runs were unearned.
Eagle workhorse A.J. Oliver pitched two innings before leaving in favor of Sawyer Pinkham who pitched five strong innings in relief. Oliver surrendered two hits and two walks, which combined for two unearned runs.
Pinkham scattered three hits while striking out seven, walking one, and surrendering one unearned run.
Lincoln committed two errors and stranded eight base runners in defeat. Greely scored two runs in the second inning and added another in the sixth through combination of walks, singles, and errors.
With the win Greely moves on to play for the Maine State Class B title in Bangor Saturday.
