Hannaford Bros., throughout Maine is currently off-line, and therefore is not accepting credit or debit cards for purchases.
Customers seeking to purchase items at the supermarkets are encouraged to use cash, however.
Eric Bloom in Hannaford Bros. corporate relations states the issue is with “our vendor’s software, and we’re working with our vendor to address it. We believe we’ll be up again some time this afternoon.”
Though no specific time, Bloom would not elaborate on the software issue, or would identify the vendor for security sake.
